Unique Maui Weddings provides it's clientele with the ultimate Maui wedding. Not just your "typical beach wedding"! Although beach weddings can be beautiful, they are certainly not private. Beaches in Hawaii are public (which is a good thing). Therefore, many weddings occur every day on the beaches. During the high-season months they can be downright congested with weddings back-to-back, up and down the shoreline. Many wedding coordinators pack so many weddings into one day that they can not possibly individually manage each wedding experience.

Ranjana Serle, owner of Unique Maui Weddings, wanted to create a totally different experience for wedding couples to enjoy. She also wanted to limit the number of weddings per week so that she could focus on making each wedding special and different. Ultimately, she needed to have the perfect wedding grounds... one that no one else could offer. It would have to be a totally private, uniquely different, serene location for the perfect wedding.... but where?

After 2 years of building and landscaping her dream was finally realized, in early 2000, when Ranjana and Ron (her husband) completed the perfect setting on the grounds of their private, five acre, Upcountry Maui estate. The property boasts a gorgeous, hand-carved, Teak wood gazebo and commands sweeping vistas of Maui. Groves of Eucalyptus trees, beautiful manicured grounds, oodles of tropical foliage and flowers adorn the property. There are even two exquisite, private cottage accommodations (The Thai Tree House is pictured bottom right) on the property available for the perfect vacation. So, after the wedding, you can retire to your private cottage and the the honeymoon can begin!

Ron and Ranjana have been happily married for over 27 years. They are blessed with 3 children who are now all grown up and living on their own. Ron, (that's him pouring the champagne) a native New Yorker, and Ranjana, (pictured above) originally from Pennsylvania fell in love with the Island during their many trips to Hawaii and decided to call Maui home more than 10 years ago. Both have traveled together extensively throughout the world. In fact, they traveled to Thailand and Bali to bring back handcrafted treasures that grace the property and were even incorporated into the building and decorating the cottages.

Ranjana's experience as a professional decorator shines through when you see the results throughout the property and her individual touches within each of the cottages. Her exquisite and discerning taste is evident in every wedding. From the flowers to the photographer, the minister to the musicians. You can be sure that every detail has been carefully coordinated and planned.
